Srimad Bhagavatha Sapthaham

The ultimate Yajna of listening to the divine glories of Lord Krishna to attain Moksha.

Bhagavatha Sapthaham

About the Sapthaham

Srimad Bhagavatham is considered the essence of all Vedas and Upanishads. The Sapthaham is a sacred week-long sacrificial ritual (Yajna) where the text is recited and explained over the course of **7 days**.

This tradition originates from the story of King Parikshit, who, cursed to die in seven days, listened to the Bhagavatham from Sage Sukha Brahma Rishi and attained liberation (Moksha). It is believed that wherever the Bhagavatham is recited, Lord Krishna Himself manifests.

Significance

In the age of Kali Yuga, where physical penance and elaborate Yajnas are difficult, Shravanam (Listening to divine stories) is considered the easiest path to God.

The Sapthaham covers the ten characteristics of the Supreme Lord, the stories of His various avatars (Dashavatara), and specifically the sweet pastimes of Lord Krishna (Krishna Leela). It purifies the listener's heart, removes the fear of death, and instills deep Bhakti (Devotion).

Key Benefits

  • Liberation from the cycle of birth and death (Moksha).
  • Removal of sins committed in past lives (Papa Pariharam).
  • Peace of mind and freedom from anxiety and fear.
  • Brings prosperity and divine grace to the entire family.
  • Purifies the environment where the recitation takes place.
  • Grants the merit of donating thousands of cows (Go-Dhana).
  • Solidifies devotion (Bhakti) towards Lord Hari.
